Caleb and I are planning to adopt, hopefully internationally, in the future. Since we know about the high cost of adoption, we want to start fundraising now to help cover the costs. Adoption is a long process that takes a lot of time and effort. And it is expensive, especially if one wishes to adopt internationally. It has been a lifelong goal to adopt one day, and after researching and talking to each other, we realized it may not be an option because of cost. Letting cost be the determining factor is not an option. Effort must be given to make the world a better place for a child. First, money will be raised for a Hague accredited home study. This costs almost $2000. With this completed, we can apply for grants as well as adoption for children. We are specifically looking at Waiting Children who are either older *not infants* or medically special. Children may come from the United States but likely internationally. Second, money will be raised for the adoption itself. This can cost between $10,000 and $25,000 for the countries researched. This includes travel expenses as well as the agency and country's fees. Third, any money which remains will be used directly on the child's well being, especially in the case of a child with a medical condition.
